The Westminster Version of the Sacred Scriptures was produced by Roman Catholics in England. The New Testament was produced in four volumes with parts of each volume appearing as separate fascicles between 1913 and 1935. The New Testament was completed in 1936 and portions of the Old Testament appeared in the 1940s and 50s. The General Editors were Cuthbert Lattey (1877-1954) and Joseph Keating (1865-1939).
No additional portions of the Old Testament were published after Cuthbert Lattey's death in 1954. A complete Bible with the New Testament and Psalms in the Westminster Version and the remainder in the Challoner's revision of the Douay-Rheims Version was printed in 1958 and again in 1966.

As to the chosen translations, Robert Dyson informs in the Preface (3 pp.) of this high quality and lavishly illustrated Holy Scripture,
»This "Family Bible" for the Catholic home presents in the Old Testament the standard Douay–Challoner text, with the exception of the Psalms which – with Ecclesiastical approval – have been translated from the original Hebrew by the English Jesuit, Father C. Lattey, S. J., as part of what is known as the "Westminster Version", named for the principal diocese in England. This version of the Psalter may also serve as an adequate rendering of the new Latin version of the Psalms recently published under the guidance of the Holy See. The New Testament text is also taken from the Ecclesiastically approved "Westminster Version", being a translation which Father Lattey and other scholars made from the original Greek. In the Old Testament the notes are designed to improve the Douay–Challoner version by reference to the original Hebrew text, and the chief important variations and corrections have been noted in italics.«
Some misprints found in the text of the 1947 Psalter book have been corrected for this version; text–wise, the major difference is the replacement of the Tetragrammaton “Jehovah“ by “Lord“. The original "Westminster S. S." comments on the Psalms have also been replaced by shorter explanations.
In the Impressum it is stated:
»The Holy Bible in this edition was designed between the years MCMLV and MCMLVIII. The Old Testament (excepting Isaias, Ezechiel, and the Minor Prophets) and the Psalms have been newly annotated by Father Robert Dyson S. J. […]. Isaias, Ezechiel, the Minor Prophets and the New Testament have been newly annotated by the Rev. Richard Foster […].«
