Wells' Paraphrase is very poorly represented in institutional libraries. Perhaps the only American library with the complete collection is the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary Clifford E. Barbour Library.
New Testament
Dr. Edward Wells published a New Testament with the Greek text, a slightly modified Authorized Version in parallel columns, and a paraphrase of the text at Oxford between 1709 and 1719. 'Though Wells's edition was largely ignored by his contemporaries, history accords him the honour of being first to edit a complete New Testament which abandoned the Textus Receptus in favour of readings from the more ancient manuscripts.'1
Wells' version was published in several sections and bound in various combinations. The following is a partial list of the New Testament sections:
