1863 Edition
1And the LORD saith unto Abram, 'Go for thyself, from thy land, and from thy kindred, and from the house of thy father, unto the land which I shew thee. 2And I make thee become a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing. 3And I bless those who bless thee, and curse him who disesteeming thee: yea, blessed in thee have been all the families of the ground.'
4And Abram goeth on, as the LORD hath spoken unto him, and Lot goeth with him; and Abram is five and seventy years old in his going out from Haran. 5And Abram taketh Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they have gained, and the persons that they have obtained in Haran; and they go out to go towards the land of Canaan; and they come in to the land of Canaan.

Psalm 23
1863 Edition
A Psalm of David.
1The LORD is my shepherd, I do not lack;
2In pastures of tender grass
He causeth me to lie down
By quiet waters He leadeth me.
3My soul He refresheth;
He leadeth me in paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
4Also, when I walk in a valley of death-shade
I fear not evil;
For Thou art with me,
Thy rod and Thy staff — they comfort me.
5Thou arrangest before me a table
Over-against my adversaries;
Thou hast anointed with oil my head;
My cup is full!
6 Only, goodness and kindness pursue me
All the days of my life;
And my dwelling is in the house of the LORD for a length of days.

Isaiah 55:1-3
1863 Edition
1Ho, every thirsty one, come to the waters,
And he who hath no money,
Come ye, buy and eat, yea, come,
Buy without money and without price,
Wine and milk.
2Why do ye weigh money for that which is not bread?
And your labour for that which is not for satiety?
Hearken diligently unto me, and eat good,
And your soul delighteth itself in fatness.
3Incline your ear, and come unto me;
Hear, and your soul doth live;
And I make for you an everlasting covenant,
The kindnesses of David, which are stedfast.

The kind acts of David — that are stedfast.
Mark 1:9-13

9And it came to pass in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan; 10and immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parted, and the Spirit as a dove coming down upon him; 11and a voice came out of the heavens, 'Thou art My Son — the Beloved, in whom I have delighted.'
12And immediately the Spirit putteth him forth into the wilderness; 13and he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by the Adversary, and was with the beasts, and the messengers were ministering to him.

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God; 2 this one was in the beginning with God; 3 all things through him were made, and without him was made not even one thing which was made.
4In him was life, and the life was the light of men, 5 and the light in the darkness shineth, and the darkness comprehended it not.

1But I make known to you, brethren, the good news which I proclaimed to you, which also ye received, in which also ye stand, 2through which also ye are being saved, in what words I proclaimed good news to you, if ye hold fast, except ye believed in vain, 3for I delivered to you first, what also I received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the writings, 4and that he was buried, and that he hath risen on the third day, according to the writings, 5and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve; 6afterwards he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain till now, and certain also fell asleep; 7afterwards he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.
8But last of all — as to one born out of due time — he appeared also to me,
