In Genesis 12:1-5 and Isaiah 55:1-3 Wesley follows the words of the King James Version with only slight changes in punctuation. However, he did make one small change in Psalm 23 changing "he leadeth me beside the still waters" to "he leadeth me to the still waters."

Psalm 23

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me to the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

1755 First Edition & 1757: Second Edition

1Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also ye received, and wherein ye stand: 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye retain what I preached to you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you first, that which I also received, That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, 4 And that he was buried, and that he was raised the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 Afterwards he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After this he was seen of James, then by all the apostles. 8 Last of all he was seen of me also, as an untimely birth.
