Genesis 12:1-5

1Now the Eternal had said to Abram, Get out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you: 2And I will make of you a great nation. and I will bless you, and make your name great: and you will be a blessing: 3And I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you: and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.
4So Abram left, as the Eternal had spoken to him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy-five years old when he went out of Haran. 5And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their wealth that they had accumulated, and the people that they had with them in Haran: and they went out toward the land of Canaan; and they entered the land of Canaan.

Psalm 23

1A Psalm of David. The Eternal is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. 3He restores my life: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. 5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. 6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Eternal forever.

Isaiah 55:1-3

1Oh, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters, and he who has no money; come, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? And your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and let your heart delight itself in fatness. 3lncline your ear, and come to me: hear, and you shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

Mark 1:9-16

9And in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in Jordan. 10And immediately coming up out of the water. he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: 11And there came a voice from heaven, saying, You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 12And immediately the Spirit drove him into the wilderness. 13And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

1Furthermore, brothers, I declare the gospel to you which I preached to you, which you have also received, and in which You stand; 2By which You are also saved, if You remember what I preached to you, unless You have believed in vain. 3For I delivered to you, first of all, what I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: 5And that he was seen by Cephas, then of the twelve: 6After that, he was seen by over five hundred brothers at once; of whom the greater part remain to this present day, but some have fallen asleep. 7After that, he was seen by James; then by all the apostles. 8And last of all he was seen by me as well, as of one born out of due time.
