9And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized [immersed] by John into the Jordan.
10And right away, going up from the water, he saw the heavens divided, and the Spirit like a dove coming down upon Him.
11Then a voice came out of the heavens, "You are My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased."
12Then right away the Spirit drives Him out into the desert.
13He was there in the desert forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the animals. And the angels took care of Him.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2This same One was in the beginning with God.
3All things came into being through him, and without Him not even one thing came into being which has come into being.
4In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5And the light is shining in the darkness, and the darkness did not over come it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1Now I make known to you, brothers, the good news which I told you, which you also received, and in which you stand,
2thru which also you are saved, if you hold on to that message I you, unless you believed vainly.
3For I gave to you in the first (place), which also I received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures.
4and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day, according to the scriptures,
5and that He was seen by Cephas [=Peter], then by the twelve.
6Then He was seen by more than five hundred brothers at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some also are fallen asleep.
7The He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.
8And last of all, as to one born out of due time, He was seen by me also.
