Esther 2:8-10
8 And Haman said unto King Ahasuerus, "There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed
among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom;
and their laws are diverse from all people, neither keep they the king's laws.
Therefore it is not to the king's profit to suffer them.
9 If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed;
and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those who have charge of the business,
to bring into the king's treasuries."
10 And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite,
the Jews' enemy.
Psalm 50:1-7
A Psalm of Asaph.
1 The Mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken
and called the earth
from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
3 Our God shall come and shall not keep silence;
a devouring fire shall go before Him
and it shall be very tempestuous round about Him.
4 He shall call to the heavens from above and to the earth,
that He may judge His people:
5 "Gather My saints together unto Me,
those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice."
6 And the heavens shall declare His righteousness,
for God Himself is judge.
7 "Hear o My people, and I will speak,
O Israel, and I will testify against thee:
I am God, even thy God."
Wisdom of Solomon 7:7-14
7 Therefore I prayed, and understanding was given me; I called upon God,
and the spirit of wisdom came to me.
8 I preferred her before scepters and thrones, and esteemed riches as nothing in comparison to her;
9 neither compared I unto her any precious stone, because all gold with respect to her is as a little sand,
and silver shall be counted as clay before her.
10 I loved her above health and beauty, and chose to have her instead of light;
for the light that cometh from her never goeth out.
11 All good things together come to me with her, and innumerable riches in her hands.
12 And I rejoiced in them all, because wisdom goeth before them;
and I knew not that she was the mother of them.
13 I learned diligently and do communicate her liberately; I do not hide her riches.
14 For she is a treasure unto men that never faileth, which those who use become the friends of God,
being commended for the gifts that come from learning.
Luke 1:8-14
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you: You shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddeling clothes, lying in the manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
14 "Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men!"
Revelation 15:1-4
1 And I saw another sign in Heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels holding the seven last plagues, for in them is filed up the wrath of God.
2 And I saw, as it were, a sea of glass mingled with fire, and them that had gotten the victory over the beast,
and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass and having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
"Great and marvelous are Thy works,
Lord God Almighty!
Just and true are Thy ways,
Thou King of Saints!
4 Who shall not fear Thee, O Lord, and glorify Thy name?
For Thou only art holy.
For all nations shall come and worship before Thee,
for Thy judgements are made manifest!"
