Mark 1:9-13
9And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
10And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
11And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
12And immediately the spirits lead him into the wilderness.
13And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of evil spirits; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
John 1:1-4
1In the beginning was God, and the Word was with God.
2All things were made by God; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
3In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
4And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
1 Corinthians 14:1-8
1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2By which also ye are blessed, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died.
4And was buried, and that his spirit rose and was seen the third day according to the Scriptures.
5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present.
7After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
