Devarim 33 (Chumash)
26 There is none like God, O Jeshurun; He rides across heaven to help you, and in His majesty through the upper heights.
27 This is the abode of God immemorial, and below are the world´s mighty ones; He drove the enemy away from before you, and He said, “Destroy!“.
28 Thus Israel shall dwell secure, solitary, in the likeness of Jacob, in a land of grain and wine; even his heavens shall drip with dew.
29 Fortunate are you, O Israel: Who is like you! O people delivered by HASHEM, the Shield of your help, Who is the Sword of your grandeur; your foes will try to deceive you, but you will trample their haughty ones.
Hosea 13 & 14 (Haftara in Chumash)
12 Ephraims iniquity is bound up; his sin is stored away.
13 Labor pains shall come upon him; he is an unwise son, for in time he will not withstand the birthstool of children.
14 From the power of the grave I would save them, from death I would redeem them – but I will speak with you of death, I will cut you off to the grave; comfort will be hidden from My eyes.
15 For he was to be the fruitful one among brothers; but hte east wind will come, HASHEM´s wind will ascent from the desert, his spring will be dried and his wellspring made arid, it will plunder the treasury of every desirable vessel.
1 Samaria will be desolate because she rebelled against her God, they will fall by the sword, their babes will be smashed and its pregnant women torn asunder.
2 Return, O Israel, to HASHEM your God, for you have stumbled through your iniquity.
3 Take words with you and return to HASHEM; say to Him, “Forgive every sin and accept goodness, and let our lips substitute for bulls.“
Bereishis 4 (Tanach)
1 Now the man had known his wife Eve, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, "I have acquired a man with HASHEM." 2 And additionally she bore his brother Abel. Abel became a shepherd, and Cain became a tiller of the ground.
3 After a period of time, Cain brought an offering to HASHEM of the fruit of the ground; 4 and as for Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and from their choicest. HASHEM turned to Abel and to his offering, 5 but to Cain and to his offering He did not turn. This annoyed Cain exceedingly, and his countenance fell.
6 And HASHEM said to Cain, "Why are you annoyed and why has your countenance fallen? 7 Surely if you improve yourself, you will forgiven. But if you do not improve yourself, sin rests at the door. Its desire is toward you, yet you can conquer it."
8 Cain spoke with his brother Abel. And it happened when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.
9 HASHEM said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" And he said, "I do not know, Am I my brother´s keeper?"
Isaiah 12 (Tanach)
1 You will say on that day, ´I thank You, HASHEM, for You were angry with me, and now Your wrath has subsided and You have comforted me. 2 Behold, God is my salvation; I shall trust and not fear. For God is my might and my praise – HASHEM! – and He is a salvation for me.´
3 You can draw water with joy from the springs of salvation. 4 And you will say on that day, ´Give thanks to HASHEM, declare His Name, make His acts known among the peoples; declare that His Name is exalted. 5 Make music for HASHEM, for he has acted with grandeur; make this known throughout the world. 6 Exult and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel is great in your midst!
Psalm 139 (Tanach)
1 For the conductor, by David, a psalm. O HASHEM, You have scrutinized me and You know. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar. 3 You encompass my path and my repose, You are familiar with all my ways.
4 For the word is not yet on my tongue, behold, HASHEM, You knew it all. 5 Back and front you have restricted me, and You have laid Your hand upon me. 6 Knowledge is beyond me; exalted, I am incapable of it.
7 Where can I go from Your spirit? And where can I flee from Your Presence? 8 If I ascent to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in the lowest depths, behold, You are there; 9 were I to take wings of dawn, were I to dwell in the distant west, 10 there, too, Your hand would guide me, and Your right hand would grasp me. 11 Would I say, "Surely, darkness will shadow me," then the night would become as light around me. 12 Even darkness obscures not from You; and night shines like the day; darkness and light are the same.
13 For you have created my mind; You have covered me in my mother's womb. 14 I acknowledge You, for I am awesomely, wondrously fashioned; wondrous are Your works, and my soul knows it well.
