And Jacob went out from Beersheba and he walked toward Haran.
and he met the place, and lodged there, for the sun had come in, and he took from the stones of the place, and placed his head-rests, and lay down at that place.
And he dreamed, and look! — a stairway postitioned toward the land, and its head was touching towards the skies; and look! — messengers of ELOHIM wee going up and coming down by it.
And look! — YHVH was positioned over him. And he said: "I am YHVH, ELOHIM of Abraham your father, and ELOHIM of Isaac; the land upon which you are lying, to you I will give it, and to your seed.
And your seed will be as the dust of the land, and you will break out toward the sea, and toward the east, and toward the north, and toward the Negev; and in you all the families of the soil will bless themselves and in your seed.
And look!— I am with you, and will guard you wherever you walk. and will cause you to return to this soil, for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you."
And Jacob woke from his sleep, and said, "Surely there is YHVH in this place, and I did not know!"
And he feared, and said, "How fearful is this place! This is not but indeed the house of ELOHIM, and this is the gate of the skies."
