Mark 1:9-13

Gospels - 1898

9In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10And straightway on coming up out of the water he saw the heavens rent asunder, and the Spirit as a dove descending upon him: 11and a voice came out of the heavens: "Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased."
12Immediately the Spirit drove him forth into the desert; 13and he was in the desert forty days tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.

12Then at once the Spirit drove Him out into the desert. 13And He was in the desert forty days tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.

John 1:1-5

Gospels - 1898

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God 3All things were made through him; and without him nothing was made. 4That which existed in him was Life; and the Life was the Light of men. 5And the Light shines in the darkness; and the darkness overcame it not

New Testament - 1937

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God 3All things came into existence through Him; and nothing whatever came into existence apart from Him. 4In Him was life, and the life was the light of men; 5and the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overpower it.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

New Testament - 1937

1I press upon your attention, brethren, the Gospel which I preached to you, which, moreover you accepted, in which also you stand. 2By it also you are saved, in what terms I preached it to you (if you are holding fast — unless you accepted the faith heedlessly). 3For, among the first doctrines, I delivered to you what I in turn had received; namely,
That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;
4And that He was buried; and that He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures;
5And that He was seen by Kephas, then by the Twelve;
6Then He was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater number remain alive until now, but some have fallen asleep;
7Then He was seen by James;
Then by all the apostles;
8And last of all He was seen by me also, as one born out of due course.
