Matthew 6:9-13 - The Lord's Prayer

The colors refer to the voting system the Jesus Seminar used. Red indicates words Jesus said. Pink indicates words Jesus may have said. Gray refers to words that Jesus didn't say, but reflect his ideas. Black refers to words Jesus didn't say.

9 Instead, you should pray like this:

Our Father in the heavens,
your name be revered.
10Impose your imperial rule,
enact your will on earth as you have in heaven.
11 Provide us with the bread we need for the day.
12Forgive our debts
to the extent that we have forgiven those in debt to us.
13And please don't subject us to test after test,
but rescue us from the evil one.

Mark 1:9-13

9During that same period Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. 10And just as he got up out of the water, he saw the skies torn open and the spirit coming down toward him like a dove. 11There was also a voice from the skies: "You are my favored son—I fully approve of you."
12And right away the spirit drives him out into the wilderness,
13where he remained for forty days, being put to the test by Satan. While he was living there among the wild animals, the heavenly messengers
looked after him.

John 1:1-5

1In the beginning there was the divine word and wisdom.

The divine word and wisdom was there with God,
and it was what God was.
2It was there with God from the beginning.
3Everything came to be by means of it;
nothing that exists came to be without its agency.
4In it was life,
and this life was the light of humanity.
5light was shining in darkness,
and darkness did not master it.
