1Now Yahweh said to Abram, “Get out of your country and from your relatives and from your father’s house to the land that I will show you. 2I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great. You will be a blessing. 3I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you. All of the families of the earth will be blessed in you.”
4So Abram went, as Yahweh had spoken to him. Lot went with him. Psalm 23 - 2015 website version

A Psalm by David.
1Yahweh is my shepherd,
There is nothing I lack.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3He restores my soul.
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me.
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil.
My cup runs over.
goodness and loving kindness will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house
forever.

Isaiah 55:1-3 - 2015 website version

1“Come, everyone who thirsts,
to the waters!
Come, he who has no money,
buy and eat!
Yes, come, buy wine and milk
without money and without price.
2Why do you spend money for what is not bread?
And your labor for what doesn’t satisfy?
Listen diligently to me, and eat you what is good,
and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3Turn your ear and come to me;
hear, and your soul will live,
and I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
even the sure mercies of David.

John 1:1-5 - 2014 first edition

Prologue
1 In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and what God was, the word was. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through it, and without it was not anything made that has been made. 4 In it was life and the life was the light of mankind. 5 And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8 - 2014 first edition

1 Now brothers, I want to remind you of the Good News with which I evangelized you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved if you hold on firmly to the message in which I told the Good News to you—unless you believed without giving it due consideration. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 4 and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than 500 brothers at once (most of whom remain alive until now, but some have fallen asleep), 7 then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared to me also.
