Genesis 12:1-5
1For the Lord has said to Abram; Go thou out of thy Country, from thy Kindred and Father's House, the the Country which I will shew thee.
2And I will make thee a great Nation, and bless thee, as also cause thy Name to be great: so be thou blessed.
3Nay I will bless those who bless thee, and him that curses thee will I curse; and all Families of the Earth shall be blessed through thee.
4Upon this he went according as the Lord ordered him, Lot going with him. And Abram was in his seventy fifth Year, when he went out of Haran.
5Then he took Sarai his Wife, and Lot his Brother's Son, with all their Substance that they had gained, and the Persons whom they had got in Haran; and they went forth to go to the Country of Canan, whither they came:
Psalm 23
1A Psalm of David. The Lord is my Shepherd, I do not want.
2He makes me lie down in Pastures of fresh Grass: he leads me by still Waters,
3He restores my Soul, guides me in the Roads of Righteousness, for his Name's sake.
4Nay though I go through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I fear no Ill, since thou art with me; whose Rod and Staff comfort me.
5Thou furnishest a Table for my Presence before my Adversaries, makest my Head wet with Oil, my Cup is quite full.
6Certainly Goodness and Kindness will follow me all the Days of my Life, and I shall rest in the House of the Lord a long Time.
Isaiah 55:1-3
1Ho everyone that is thirsty, come you to the Waters, and he who has no Money; come, buy, and eat; even come, buy Wine and Milk, without either Money or Price.
2Why do you spend Money for what is not Bread, and your Labour for what does not satisfy? Hearken attentively to me, and eat what is good, and let your Soul delight it self in Fatness.
3Incline your Ear, and come to me; hear, and your Soul shall live: and I will make with you an everlasting Covenant, the sure Favours of David.
Mark 1:9-13
9On those Days too did Jesus come from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in Jordan.
10Then presently going up from the Water, he saw the Heavens parted, and the Spirit as a Dove come down on him.
11When behold there was a Voice from Heaven, Thou are my beloved Son, with whom I am pleased.
12Moreover the Spirit presently takes him out into the Wilderness.
13And he was there in the Wilderness forty Days, tempted by Satan; as also was with wild Beasts, and Angels ministered to him.
John 1:1-5
1The Word was in the Beginning, and it was with God, nay the Word was God.
2He himself was with God in the Beginning.
3All Things were made by him, and without him there was not one Thing made which was made.
4In him there was Life, and that was the Light of Men.
5And the Light shined in Darkness, but the Darkness did not perceive it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1And I make known to you, Brethren, the Gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, and wherein you stand;
2By which too ye are saved, if you retain what Matter I preached to you, unless you have believed in vain.
3For I delivered to you first, even what I received; that Christ died for our Sins, according to the Scriptures;
4As also that he was buried, and that he rose up the third Day, according to the Scriptures.
5And that he was seen by Cephas, afterwards by the twelve.
6Next he was seen by above five hundred Brethren at once; most of whom remain till now, but some too are asleep.
7In the next place he was seen by James, after that by all the Apostles.
8And last of all he was seen by me, as being born untimely.
