Genesis 12:1-5

12:1 Now Jehovah said to Abram, Get thee out
of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from
thy father’s house, to the land that I will show
thee. 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation,
and I will bless thee, and make thy name great,
and be thou a blessing. 12:3 And I will bless those
who bless thee, and he who curses thee I will
curse. And in thee shall all the families of the
earth be blessed.
12:4 So Abram went as Jehovah had spoken to
him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five
years old when he departed out of Haran.
12:5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot
his brother’s son, and all their substance that they
had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in
Haran, and they went forth to go into the land of
Canaan. And they came into the land of Canaan.

Psalm 23

23:1 Jehovah is my shepherd, I shall not want.
23:2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He
leads me beside still waters. 23:3 He restores my
soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
23:4 Yea, tho I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou are
with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
23:5 Thou prepare a table before me in the presence
of my enemies. Thou have anointed my head
with oil. My cup runs over.
23:6 Surely goodness and loving kindness shall
follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell
in the house of Jehovah forever.

Isaiah 55:1-3

55:1 Ho, everyone who thirsts, come ye to the
waters. And he who has no money, come ye, buy,
and eat. Yea, come, buy wine and milk without
money and without price. 55:2 Why do ye spend
money for that which is not bread, and your labor
for that which does not satisfy?
55:2 Hearken diligently to me, and eat ye that
which is good, and let your soul delight itself in
fatness. 55:3 Incline your ear, and come to me.
Hear, and your soul shall live. And I will make an
everlasting covenant with you, even the faithful
holy things of David.

Mark 1:9-13

1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus
came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was immersed
by John in the Jordan.
1:10 And straightaway coming up out of the
water, he saw the heavens divided, and the Spirit
descending upon him as a dove. 1:11 And a voice
occurred out of the heavens, Thou are my beloved
Son, in whom I am well pleased.
1:12 And straightaway the Spirit drives him
forth into the wilderness. 1:13 And he was there in
the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan. And
he was with the wild beasts. And the agents
served him.

John 1:1-5

1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God.
1:2 This man was in the beginning with God. 1:3
All things came to be through him, and apart from
him not even one thing came to be that has come
to be.
1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of
men. 1:5 And the light shines in the darkness, and
the darkness did not comprehend it.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

15:1 And, brothers, I make known to you the
good news that I preached to you, which also ye
received, and in which ye stand, 15:2 by which also
ye are saved if ye hold firm that word I preached
to you, unless ye believed in vain.
15:3 For I delivered to you at first what I also received,
that Christ died for our sins according to
the scriptures, 15:4 and that he was buried, and that
he arose on the third day according to the scriptures,
15:5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to
the twelve.
15:6 Then he appeared to over five hundred
brothers at once, of whom the greater part remain
until now, but some also slept.
15:7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the
apostles, 15:8 and last of all, as to the untimely
birth, he also appeared to me.
