9And it came to pass in those days, the Jesus went from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized in the Jordan by John:
10and straightway, as he went up out of the water, John saw the heavens parted, and the Spirit descending upon him as a dove;
11and a voice came from heaven, saying, "Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased."
12And immediately the spirit sendeth him forth into the wilderness:
13and he was tried by Satan in the wilderness forty days, and was among the wild beasts; and afterwards the angels ministered to him.
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God:
2the same was in the beginning with God:
3all things were made by him; and without him was not anything made, that was made:
4in him was Life; and the Life was the Light of men,
5and the Light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness overcame him not.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1Moreover, brethren, I recall to your knowledge the gospel which I declared to you; which also ye received, and in which ye stand;
2by which also ye are saved, if ye hold it fast in the word in which I declared it to you; unless ye have believed in vain.
3For I delivered to you at first, (that which I also received;) That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures;
4and that he was buried; and that on the third day he rose again, according to the scriptures:
5and that he appeared to Kephas, and then to the ten:
6that, after that, he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep:
7after that, he appeared to James; then to all the apostles:
8and, last of all, he appeared to me also, as to the infant not yet formed.
