Mark 1:9-13
9And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came frm Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. 10And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him. 11And there came a voice from heaven, saying, "Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
12And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. 13And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
John 1:1-5
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life, and the life was the light of men; 5and the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand, 2By which also ye are saved; (if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you;) unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all, that which I also received; how that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he arose again the third day, according to the scriptures; 5and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve. 6After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
