Mark 1:9-13
9And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10And straightway, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens being parted, and the Spirit as a dove descending upon Him; 11and there came to be a voice out of the heavens, "Thou art My Son, the Beloved, in Thee I am well pleased."
12And straightway, the Spirit driveth Him forth into the desert. 13And He was there in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan; and He was with the wild beasts; and the angels were ministering to Him.
John 1:1-5
1In the beginning was the Logos, and the Logos was with God, and the Logos was God. 2This One was in the beginning with God. 3All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that hath come to be. 4In Him was life, and the Life was the light of Men. 5And the light shineth in the darkness, and the darkness overcame it not.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1Now I make known to you, brethren, the Gospel which I preached as good tidings to you, which also ye reveived, and in which also ye stand, 2by which also ye are being saved, in what word I myself preached as good tidings to you, if ye hold fast, unless ye believed in vain. 3For I delivered to you in the first place what I also received , that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4and that He was buried, and that He hath been raised the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that He appeared to Kephas, then to the twelve. 6Afterward He appeared to over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the majority remain until now, but some also fell asleep. 7Then He appeared to Iakovos, then to all the apostles. 8And last of all He appeared to me also, as it were one untimely born.
Psalm 22 (23)
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord sheperdeth me, and nothing shall lack for me.
2 In a place of verdure, there He caused me to dwell; by the water of rest He brought me forth.
3 He converted my soul, He led me on the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
4 For even though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, yet I will not be afraid of evils; for Thou art with me.
5 Thy rod and Thy staff, they did comfort me.
6 Thou didst prepare a table before me right opposite those afflicting me.
7 Thou didst anoint my head with oil, and Thy cup is inebriating me as most excellent.
8 And Thy mercy shall pursue me all the days of my life, and my dwelling will be in the house of the Lord unto length of days.
