Mark 1:9-13
9And it happened in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John.
10And immediately going up out of the water he saw the heavens rent and the Spirit as a dove coming down upon him.
11And there was a voice from the heavens: Thou art my Beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased.
12And at once the Spirit drives him out into the desert 13And he was in the desert for forty days being tempted by Satan; and he was with the beasts. And the angels were ministering to him.
John 1:1-5
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2This (Word) was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made through him and without him nothing that has been made was made.
4In him was life, and the life was the light of men; 5and the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
