Mark 1:9-13
9And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in Jordan. 10And immediately going up out of the water, he saw the heavens rent, and the Spirit, as a dove, descending upon him. 11And a voice came from heaven, saying, "Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
12And immediately the Spirit sendeth him forth into the desert: 13and he was tempted by Satan forty days; and was with the wild beasts: and the angels ministered unto him.
John 1:1-5
1The Word was in the beginning, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2This Word was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shone in darkness; and the darkness overspread it not.
