Genesis 12:1-5

1 The LORD said to Abram, "Go out of your country, your family, and your father's house, to the land I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse, and in you all the peoples of the earth will be blessed."
4 So Abram went as the LORD had told him, and Lot went with him.
Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.
5 Abram took Sarai, his wife, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the slaves they had acquired in Haran. They set out for the land of Canaan and arrived there.

Psalm 23 (22)

A Psalm of David
1 The LORD is my shepherd, what more do I need?
2 In green pastures he lets me rest.
to quiet streams of water he leads me,
3 and revives my failing spirit.
He leads me along the right paths
ever true to his name.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
no harm would I fear, for you are there by my side.
With your rod and your staff you give me comfort.
5 You prepare a banquet for me
in the presence of my foes.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup is overflowing.
6 Only goodness and kindness will follow me
all the days of my life,
I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
for ever and ever.

Isaiah 55:1-3

1 All you who are thirsty, come to the water; you who have no money, come, buy grain and eat. Yes, without money and at no cost, come, buy wine and milk.
2 Why spend your money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen to me attentively, and you will eat good things, you will enjoy rich food.
3 Incline your ear and come to me; listen, that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, I will fulfill in you my promises to David.

Mark 1:9-13

9 At that time Jesus came from Nazareth, a town of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And the moment he came up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened before him and the Spirit coming down on him like a dove. 11 And these words were heard from heaven, "You are my Son, my beloved one, with you I am well pleased.“

12Then the Spirit drove him into the desert, 13 and Jesus stayed in the desert forty days and was tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels waited on him.

John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was made nothing that was made. 4 Whatever came to be, found life in him, life which was also light for all people. 5 The light that shines in the dark; the light that darkness could not overcome.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

1 Let me remind you, brothers, of the Good News that I preached to you and which you received and on which you stand firm. 2 By that Gospel you are saved, provided that you hold to it as I preached it. Otherwise, you will have believed in vain.
3 In the first place, I have passed on to you what I myself received that Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture; 4 that he was buried; that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures; 5 that he appeared to Cephas and then to the Twelve. 6 Afterwards he appeared to more than five hundred brothers together; most of them are still alive, although some have already died. 7 Then he appeared to James and after that to all the apostles. 8 And last of all he appeared to me also, as to the one abnormally born..
