Psalm 23

Hebrew-Masoretic Version

1YaHWeh is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He-makes-me-to-lie-down in pastures of tender-grass: He-leads me beside waters of rest (or, "of resting-places.")
3He-restores my soul: He-guides me in the paths of uprightness for His Name's sake.
4Yea, though I-walk through the valley of the shadow-of-death, I-will-fear no evil; for THOU art with me: Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.
5Thou spreadest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou hast-anointed my head with oil; my cup is an overflowing (i.e. runs over).
6Nought but goodness and loving-kindness shall-follow ne all the days of my life: And I-will-dwell in the house of YaHWeH for length of days.

Latin-Vulgate Version

1The Lord is my shepherd; I-shall-want nothing.
2In a place where pasture is, there He-makes-me dwell: He-nourishes me at the water of repose.
3He-has-refreshed my soul: He has-guided me into the path's of justice, for His Name's sake.
4Yea, even should-I-walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I-will-fear no evils, for THOU art with me: Thy rod and Thy staff, these have-comforted me.
5Thou-hast-laid a tabel before me in the presence of mine oppressors: Thou-hast-thoroughly-anointed my head with oil, and mine overflowing (lit., inebriating) cup, how goodly it is!
6Thy mercy also shall-follow me all the days of my life: And [this] that I-may-dwell in the house of the Lord for length of days.
