Deuteronomy 34 (Complete Bible, 1917)
5 So Moses the servant of th LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.
And he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab over against Beth–peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulcre unto this day.
7 And Moses was an hundered and twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dim nor his natural force abated. And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping in the mourning for Moses were ended.
And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.
10 And there has not arisen a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face; in all the signs and wonders, which the LORD sent him to doin the land of Egypt, to Pharao, and to all his servants, and to all his land; and in all the mighty hand, and in all the great terror, which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.
Ecclesiastes 12 (Complete Bible, 1917)
1 Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth:
Or ever the evil days come,
And the years draw nigh,
When thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them:
2 Or ever the sun,
And the light,
And the moon,
And the stars,
Be darkened,
And the clouds return after the rain:
3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble,
And the strong men shall bow themselves,
And the grinders cease because they are few,
And those that look out of the window be darkened,
4 And the doors shall be shut in the street;
When the sound of the grinding is low,
And one shall rise up at the voice of the bird,
And all the daughters of music shall be brought low.
5 Yea, they shall be afraid of that which is high,
And terrors shall be in the way;
And the almond tree shall blossom,
And the grasshopper shall be a burden,
And the caper–berry shall burst:
Because man goeth to his long home,
And the mourners go about in the streets:
6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed,
Or the golden bowl be broken,
Or the pitcher be broken at the fountain,
Or the wheel broken at the cistern:
7 And the dust return to the earth,
As it was;
And the spirit return unto God,
Who gave it.

14 Sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the old men and all the inhabitants of the land
unto the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD:
Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand!
And as destruction from the Almighty it shall come.
Is not the meat cut off before our eyes,
Yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
17 The seeds rot under their clods:
The garners are laid desolate,
The barns are broken down;
For the corn is withered.
How do the beasts groan!
The herds of cattle are perplexed,
Because they have no pasture;
Yeah, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
19 O LORD, to thee do I cry:
For the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness,
And the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
Yea, the beasts of the field pant unto thee:
For the water brooks are dried up,
And the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
__ Wisdom 13 __
1 For verily all men by nature were but vain who had no perception of God, and from the good things that are seen they gained not power to know him that is, neither by giving heed to the works did they recognise the artificer; but either fire, or wind, or swift air, or circling stars, or raging water, or luminaries of heaven, they thought to be gods that rule the world.
3 And if it was through delight in their beauty that they took them to be gods, let them know how much better than these is their Sovereign Lord; for the first author of beauty created them.
But if it was through astonishment at their power and influence, let them understand from them how much more powerful is he that formed them; for from the greatness of the beauty even of created things in like proportion does man form the image of their first maker.
6 But yet for these men there is but small blame. For they too peradventure do but go astray while they are seeking God and desiring to find him; for living among his works they make diligent search and they yield themselves up to sight, because the things they look upon are beautiful. But again even they are not to be excused.
9 For if they had the power to know so much, that they should be able to explore the course of things, how is it that they did not sooner find the Sovereign Lord of these his works?
__ Matthew 5 __
17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets;
I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things are accomplished.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.: but whosoever shall do and teach them, shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven. Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgement: but I say unto you, that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgement; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire.
23 If therefore thou art offering thy gift at the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee, leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art with him in the way; lest haply the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer and thou be cast into prison: verily I say unto thee, Tou shalt by no means come out thence, till you have paid the last farthing.
__ II Corinthians 5 __
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died; and he died for all, that they which live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto him, who for their sakes died and rose again.
Wherefore we henceforth we know no man after the flesh: even we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold they are become new.
18 But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
__ I John 5 __
5 And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ, not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one.
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for the witness of God is this, that he hath borne witness concerning his Son.
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son. And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his son.
