Genesis 12:1-5
1Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go from your country, your family, and your father's house to the land that I will show you.
2I will make of you a great nation;
I will bless you
and make your name great,
so that you will be a blessing.
3I will bless them who bless you
and curse him who curses you,
and in you all the families of the earth
will be blessed."
4So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Harran. 5Abram took Sarai his wife, Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had accumulated, and the people that they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan. They came to the land of Canaan.
Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside still waters.
3He restores my soul;
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.
4Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup runs over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Isaiah 55:1-3
1Ho! Everyone who thirsts,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat.
Come buy wine and milk
without money and without price.
2Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread,
and your labor for that which does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to Me, and eat what is good,
and let your soul delight itself in abundance.
3Incline your ear, and come to Me.
Listen, so that your soul may live,
and I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
even the sure mercies of David.
Mark 1:9-13
9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10Coming up out of the water, He immediately saw the heavens opened and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove. 11And a voice came from heaven saying, "You are My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased."
12The Spirit immediately drove Him into the wilderness. 13And He was there in the wilderness for forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts. And the angels ministered to Him.
John 1:1-5
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were created through Him, and without Him nothing was created that was created. 4In Him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. 5The light shines in darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1Now, brothers, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which you have received, and in which you stand. 2Through it you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached to you, unless you have believed in vain.
3For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: how Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4was buried, rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and was seen by Cephas, and then by the twelve. 6Then He was seen by over five hundred brothers at once, of whom the greater part remain to this present time, though some have passed away. 7Then He was seen by James and then by all the apostles. 8Last of all, He was seen by me also, as by one born at the wrong time.
