Mark 1:9-13

9And so it came about that Jesus left his home at Nazareth, in Galilee, and came south to Judea, where he too was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10As he was coming out of the water, he saw, like a lightning flash, the heaven open, and the Spirit coming on him settling like a dove, 11while a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, you are my joy and my delight.” 12 On that, the Spirit drove him into the barren mountains, where he stayed for forty days, and all that time he was tempted by Satan. 13Wild animals were prowling round him, and angels waited on him.

John 1:1-5

In the beginning *[there was God] and there was The Word with God; and The Word was God. He has always been with God, from the first: the whole creation was His work; not one thing [great or small] was made without Him.
Life itself [came through him], and was in Him, and that life was the light of men; a light that is still shining in the darkness; for the darkness could not hold back the light.
