Mark 1:9-13
9At that time Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in Jordan. 10and as soon as he was got out of the water, he saw the heavens open, and the spirit lighting upon him, like a dove. 11when this voice from heaven was heard, "thou art my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." 12presently after the spirit convey'd him into the desert. 13where he continued forty days, being tempted by Satan: and when he was among the wild beasts, angels ministered unto him.
John 1:1-5
1In the beginning was the Logos, and the Logos was with God, and the Logos was God. 2the same was in the beginning with God. 3all things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made. 4the Life was produc'd in him, and the Life was the Light of men. 5and the Light shineth in darkness, but the darkness did not receive it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1What I have explain'd to you, my brethren, is the gospel which I preached to you, which you have received, and wherein you have persisted: 2by which also you will be saved, if you so retain it as I preached it to you, unless you have believed without sufficient grounds. 3I acquainted you chiefly with what I received myself, that Christ died for our sins, as the scriptures foretold: 4that he was buried, and rose again the third day, as the scriptures foretold: 5that he was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve: 6after that, he was seen by above five hundred brethren at once: of whom the greater part remain alive to this day, but some are now dead. 7after that he was seen by James; then by all the apostles. 8and last of all, he was seen by me too, who am as it were an abortive;
