Mark 1:9-13
9 Now it was in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 And immediately coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the spirit like a dove descending upon him;
11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, You are my Son, my beloved in whom I am well pleased.
12 Then at once the Spirit drove him into the desert.
13 And he was there in the desert forty days, tempted by Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.
John 1:1-5
1 IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him there was nothing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness did not apprehend it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1 But now, bretheren, I would remind you of the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, and in which you stand.
2 By which also you are saved, if you bear in mind what I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures;
5 And that he was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve;
6 After that, he was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater number are alive to this day, though some have fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen by James; then by all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen by me also, as one born out of due time.
