Psalm 1
1 Oh hapiness of the man who walks not
In accordance with the counsel of the ungodly,
Who does not take his stand in the way of sinners,
And does not sit in the seat of scoffers,
2 But finds his delight in the fear of the Lord,
And in his law meditates day and night.
3 Then he will be like a tree planted by streams of water,
Which bears its fruit in season;
Its leaves, moreover, do not wither;
And everything which he does he makes prosper.
4 Not so [is it with] the evildoer, not so;
But he is like the chaff which the wind pursues.
5 Therefore the evildoer will not endure in the judgment,
Nor will sinners endure in the congregation of the righteous.
6 Because the Lord cares about what becomes of the righteous,
But the hope of the wicked will vanish.
Psalm 50
1 The Lord speaks and calls the earth
From the rising of the sun to its setting.
2 From Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God shines forth!
3 Our God comes and cannot keep silent!
Fire devours before Him,
And round about Him is exceedingly tempestuous.
4 He calls to the heavens above
And to the earth, to judge His people:
5 ”Assemble to Me, My godly ones,
Who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.“
6 Let the heavens declare His righteousness,
That He ist a God of judgment.
7 “Hear, my people, and I will speak:
[Hear] O Israel, and I will testify against you.“
Isaiah 55:1-4
1"Ah! Let every one who is thirsty come to the waters;
And he who has no money come, buy and eat,
Buy wine and milk without price.
2Why do you weigh out silver for what is no bread?
And why do you toil for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good,
And take delight in the spiritual blessing of your soul.
3Incline your ear, and come to me,
Listen, that your soul may live;
I will make with you an eternal covenant,
The sure mercies of David.
4Lo, I have made you a witness to the nations,
A ruler and commander of peoples.
Jeremiah 33
14 Lo, days are coming, says the Lord, when I will carry out the good things of which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and concerning the house of Judah.
15 In those days and in that time I will cause a righteous shoot to sprout for David, and he shall exercise justice and righteousness in the land.
16 In those days Judah shall be saved and Jerusalem shall dwell securely, and this is its name by which it shall be called, “The Lord is our righeousness.“
17 For thus says the Lord, There shall not be cut off from David a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel.
18 And from the priests, the Levites, there shall never be cut off from my presence a man to offer whole burnt offerings and meal offerings and sacrifices.
19 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah saying, 20 Thus says the Lord: If my covenant with the day and the night should be broken, so that day and night would not come in their time, 21 only then would also my covenant with David my servant be broken, so there would not be a son reigning on his throne or Levitical priest serving me.
22 Just as the host of the heavens cannot be counted, so will I increase the descendants of David my servant and the Levites ministering to me.
