Corinthians 15:1-8
Study edition
Brothers and sisters, I have decisively declared the Gospel (good-news, remarkable-report, marvelous-message) that I effectively evangelized (proclaimed the gospel of divine truth), which you have readily received and now are firmly founded in.
Now, if you readily retain and securely store that which I effectively evangelized (proclaimed the gospel of divine truth) to you and through which you alone are surely saved (rescued, delivered, preserved, made-whole), that is, unless you said you believed (confessed-faith, trusted-in, acted-upon) for absolutely no reason at all.
This is why I directly delivered (surrendered, handed-over, transferred) to you only that which has been verbally voiced to me, that is, as it was written in the scriptures, that the Christ had to die (succumbed to spiritual death) to essentially eradicate our nature of sin,
that he was also buried, along with the fact, that he was creatively caused to be readily raised on the third day, as it has also been written in the scriptures,
and then he was seen by Cephas (See-fas), and then also by the twelve apostles of Jesus.
After they saw him, he was seen by over five hundred brothers and sisters, at the same time, now, the majority of those are still alive and presently here with us, but there are also those who have since passed away.
After they all had seen him, then he was also seen by James and by the rest of the apostles (delegates, messengers, ambassadors).
And last of all, I have seen him, although, it seems as if, I was born indeed at the improper time.
