Bereshit 6 (The Living Torah)
1 Man began to increase on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them. 2 The sons of God saw that the daughters of man were good, and they took themselves wives from whomever they chose. 3 God said, “My spirit will not continue to judge man forever, since he is nothing but flesh. His day shall be 120 years.
4 The titans¹ were on earth on those days and also later. The sons of God had come to the daughters of man and had fathered them. [The titans] were the mightiest ones who ever existed, men of renown.
5 God saw that man´s wickedness on earth was increasing. Every impulse of his innermost thought was only for evil, all day long. 6 God regretted that He had made man on earth, and He was pained over His very core. 7 God said, “I will obliterate humanity that I have created from the face of the earth – man, livestock, land animals and birds of the sky. I regret that I created them. 8 But Noah found favor in God´s eyes.
¹ titans: `Nefilim´ in Hebrew, literally “fallen ones“.
Ezekiel 36 (The Living Torah)
22 Therefore say to the house of Israel, This is what God the Lord says: I did not do this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for My holy name´s sake, which you have profaned amomg the nations to which you came.
23 I will vindicate My great name, which was profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in your midst, and the nations will know that I am God, says God the Lord, when I will be sanctified in you before their eyes. 24 For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you from all countries, and bring you into your own land.
25 Then I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you will be cleansed from all your impurities, and I will cleanse you from all your idols. 26 I will also give you a new heart, and put a new spirit in you; and I will take away the stony heart from your flesh, and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to follow My statutes, and you will be careful to keep My statutes.

Judges 5 (The Living Nach – Early Prophets)
1 Deborah and Barak son of Avinoam sang the following song that day:
2 When breaches were made in Israel,
When the people dedicate themselves,
Bless God!
3 Hear, kings,
Listen, rulers,
I will sing, I will chant,
I will sing hymns to God,
I will sing to God, Lord of Israel!
4 God,
When You came forth from Seir,
When you advanced from the fields of Edom,
The earth trembled,
The heavens dripped,
The clouds dripped water.
5 The mountains quaked before God,
The One of Sinai ––
Before God, the Lord of Israel.
6 In the days of Shamgar son of Anath,
In the days of Yael,
Caravans ceased,
And travelers went
By roundabout paths.
7 Security ceased,
Ceased in Israel,
Until I, Deborah, arose.
I arose, a mother in Israel.
8 When they chose new gods,
There was war at the gates!
Np shield or spear was seen
Among forty thousands in Israel!
Isaiah 52/ 53 (The Living Nach – Later Prophets)
13 Indeed, My servant will prosper. He will be raised, lifted up, and greatly exalted. 14 Just as many people were apalled at him –– his appearance was so disfigured and his form [inferior] to a man´s –– 15 so will he shake up many nations, and kings will hold their tongues because of him. For they have seen [things] they were never told and beheld what they had not heard.
1 Who can believe what we heard? Upon whom was God´s Hand revealed? 2 He grew before [God] like a young plant, like a root in dry land, without form or beauty. We saw him, and his appearance was repulsive.
3 Despised, less than a man –– a man of suffering, tormented with illness –– people turned their eyes away from him. He was despised, and we held him of no accout. 4 Yet he bore our sickness and suffered our pains. We considered him afflicted, smitten by God, tortured.
5 He was wounded because of our sins and crushed by our transgressions. He was punished so we should enjoy well–being, and we were healed by his wounds.
Psalm 23 (The Living Nach – Sacred Writings)
1 A psalm of David.
God is my shepherd, I do not lack.
2 He makes me lie down in grassy pastures, leads me by still waters.
3 He calms my soul; He leads me on the paths of justice as befits His name.
4 Even when I walk in the valley of Death´s shadow, I fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff – thex comfort me.
5 You set out a table in front of me, in full view of my tormentors. You anoint my head with oil; my cup is full.
6 May only goodness and lovingkindness pursue me all the days of my life, that I may dwell in the House of God for a very long time.
