Genesis 12:1-5
1 Now the LORD said to Abram, "Leave your country, your relatives and your father's house, and go to the land that I will show you.
2 And I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.
3 And I will bless those who bless you, and he who curses you, I will curse. Through you all the families of the earth will be blessed."
4 So Abram left, as the LORD had directed him, and Lot went with him. Abram was 75 years old when he left Haran.
5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, his nephew Lot and all their possessions that they had accumulated, and the people that they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan. Then they came to the land of Canaan.
Psalm 23
A psalm of David
1 The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul,
he guides me in the paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
4 Even though, I walk through the darkest valley,
I will fear no harm,
for you are with me.
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Isaiah 55:1-3
1 "Everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters.
You who have no money, come buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and free of charge.
2 Why do you spend money for that which is not bread,
and your wages for that which does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to me,
and eat what is good,
and delight yourselves in the finest cuisine.
3 Incline your ear and come to me;
listen, so you may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
just like my loyal covenant made to David.
Mark 1:9-13
9 Now it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan River.
10 While Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending upon him like a dove.
11 A voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son, I am well pleased with you."
12 Immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.
13 He was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels ministered to him.
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him nothing was made that had been made.
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1 Now I make known to you, brothers, the gospel which I preached to you, that you received and on which you also stand,
2 by which you are also saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you what was of primary importance that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;
4 and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
5 and that he appeared to Cephas; then to the Twelve.
6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, but some have fallen asleep.
7 Then he appeared to James, and after that to all the apostles.
8 Last of all, as to one born at the wrong time, he appeared to me too.
