Mark 1:9-16
9 It came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And immediately coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn open, and the Spirit descending upon him as a dove. 11 And a voice came out of the heavens, "You are my beloved Son, in you I am well pleased."
12 And immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.
13 He was in the wilderness forty days being tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered to him.
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that has been made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of humankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness; and the darkness did not overcome it.
