Genesis 12:1-5

Complete Bible - 2003

1The LORD said to Abram:
Go out from your land,
your relatives,
and your father's house
to the land that I will show you.
2I will make you into a great nation,
I will bless you,
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3I will bless those who bless you,
I will curse those who treat you with contempt,
and all the peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.

4So Abram went, as the LORD had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was 75 years old when he left Haran. 5He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated, and the people he had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan.

Psalm 23

Complete Bible - 2003

1The LORD is my shepherd;
there is nothing I lack.
2He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
3He renews my life;
He leads me along the right paths
for His name's sake.
4Even when I go through the darkest valley,
I fear no danger,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff —they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
as long as I live.

Isaiah 55:1-3

Complete Bible - 2003

1"Come, everyone who is thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you without money,
come, buy, and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost!
2Why do you spend money on what is not food,
and your wages on what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
and you will enjoy the choicest of foods.
3Pay attention and come to Me;
listen, so that you will live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
the promises assured to David.

John 1:1-5

Complete Bible - 2003

1In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2He was with God in the beginning.
3All things were created through Him,
and apart from Him not one thing was created
that has been created.
4Life was in Him,
and that life was the light of men.
5That light shines in the darkness,
yet the darkness did not overcome it.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

Complete Bible - 2003

1Now brothers, I want to clarify for you the gospel I proclaimed to you; you received it and have taken your stand on it. 2You are also saved by it, if you hold to the message I proclaimed to you—unless you believed to no purpose. 3For I passed on to you as most important what I also received:
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4that He was buried,
that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
5and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve.
6Then He appeared to over 500 brothers at one time,
most of whom remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.
7Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles.
8Last of all, as to one abnormally born, He also appeared to me.
