9And it happened in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10And immediately as He came up out of the water, He saw the heavens split into separate parts, and the Spirit as a Dove descended down upon Him: 11and there came a voice from above, saying, You are My beloved Son, in whom I am delighted. 12And immediately He was spirited into the desert, 13and He was there forty days, tempted by Satan; and dwelt among the wild beasts; and the angels served His needs.
1The Word existed in the beginning, and the Word was God. 2The Word was with God from the beginning. 3All creation existed by His hand, and nothing was made without Him. 4In Him was life; and that life was the light of men. 5And the Light continues to shine and the darkness could not restrain it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1This is to remind you, brethren, the saving message on which you stand is the authoritative good news I declared unto you and you received; 2provided you hold fast the essence of the words delivered to you since you became believers in Christ. 3For I transmitted to you what I first received, how the scriptures proclaimed that Christ died for our sins; 4according to the writings He was laid to rest and stood up again the third day: 5and that He was seen by Cephas, then by others of the Twelve: 6After that, over five hundred brethren saw Him at the same time; most of whom survive to this day, but some have passed to their rest. 7After that he appeared to James; then to all the apostles. 8Finally, he appeared even to me, as an imperfectly formed fetus brought forth before the due date.
