Genesis 12:1-5

Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great. I will bless you and those who bless you, and curse him who curses you. By you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." So Abram, who was seventy-five years old, departed from Haran with Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions, and the persons that they had gotten in Haran. When they came to Canaan,

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want;
he makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff,
they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
thou anointest my head with oil,
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
for ever.

Isaiah 55:1-3

"HO, EVERY ONE who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Hearken diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in fatness. Come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David.

Mark 1:9-13

In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John. When he came up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit descending upon him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, "Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased." Then the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness, and he was there for forty days, tempted by Satan. He was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered to him.

John 1:1-5

IN THE BEGINNING was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God; all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

NOW I WOULD remind you, brethren, in what terms I preached to you the gospel, by which you are saved, if you hold it fast. I delivered to you as of first importance that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.
