Genesis 12:1-5

1961 Complete Bible

1And Jehovah had said to Abram, Go out of thy land, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, to the land that I will shew thee. 2And I will make of thee a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. 3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 4And Abram departed as Jehovah had said to him. And Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed out of Haran. 5And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had acquired, and the souls that they had obtained in Haran, and they went out to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

Psalm 23

1961 Complete Bible

1Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside still waters.
3He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely, goodness and loving-kindness shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of Jehovah for the length of the days.

Isaiah 55:1-3

1961 Complete Bible

1Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters; and he that hath no money, come ye, buy, and eat: yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price! 2Wherefore do ye spend money for [that which is] not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye [that which is] good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. 3Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the sure mercies of David.

Mark 1:9-13

1871 Edition

9And it came to pass in those days [that] Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John at the Jordan. 10And straightway going up from the water, he saw the heavens parting asunder, and the Spirit, as a dove, descending upon him. 11And there came a voice out of the heavens: Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I have found my pleasure.
12And immediately the Spirit drives him out into the wilderness. 13And he was in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered to him.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

1871 & 1884 Edition

1But I make known to you, brethren, the glad things which I announced to you, which also ye received, in which also ye stand, 2by which also ye are saved, (if ye hold fast the word which I announced to you as the glad tidings,) unless indeed ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered to you, in the first place, what also I had received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures; 4and that he was buried; and that he was raised the third day, according to the scriptures; 5and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6Then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the most remain until now, but some also have fallen asleep. 7Then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles; 8and last of all, as to an abortion, he appeared to me also.
