Genesis 12
12:1But the Lord said to Abram, "Go out from your land and from your kin
and from your father's house, into a land which I will show you!
12:2 And I will make you into a great nation, and will bless you and magnify your name.
And you will be blessed.
12:3 I will bless those blessing you and curse those cursing you.
And all the land's families will be blessed in you."
12:4 So Abram went out, as the Lord had commanded him, and Lot went with him.
Abram was seventy-five years old when he went out from Haran.
12:5 And he took Sarai, his wife, and Lot, his brother's son, and all the substance
and souls which they possessed, what they had done in Haran.
And they went out so they could go into Canaan's land. And when they had come into it,
12:6a Abram passed through the land even into Shechem's place, even to Shining valley.
Psalm 22 (Hebrew 23)
22:1A Psalm of David.
The Lord will guide me.
Nothing will be lacking to me.
22:2 In a place of pasture –
there He establishes me.
He taught me
over refreshing waters.
22:3 He converted my soul.
He led me over fair paths,
for His name‘s sake.
22:4 Even if I walk
in the midst
of death‘s shadow,
I will not fear harm
because you are with me.
Your rod and your staff –
these consoled me.
22:5 You prepared a table
in my sight,
against those who afflicted me.
You anointed my head
with oil.
My cub, inebriating,
how clear it is!
22:6 Your mercy will follow me
all my life‘s days,
so that I will live
in the Lord‘s house
through length of days.
