Matthew 2:1-6 –– 1919 edition
1 Now, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judæa in the days of Herod the king, Behold, Wise-men ¹ from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, 2 Where is he that was born king of the Jews? for we saw his star at its rising ², and we have come to worship him ³. – 3 But when Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and so was all Jerusalem with him. 4 And gathering together all the high priests and scribes of the people, he made inquiries of them where the Christ is born. 5 But they said to him, In Bethlehem of Judæa ; for thus it hath been written through the prophet,
6 'And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah,
Art by no means least among the governors of Judah;
For out of thee shall come forth a governor,
Who shall be shepherd of my people Israel.'

1 Corinthians 15:1-8 –– 1919 edition
1 Now I am making known to you, brethren, the gospel whereof I was the gospeller to you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand, 2 through which also ye are being saved, if ye bear in mind with what words I was its gospeller to you, unless without reason you believed. 3 For I delivered to you, first of all, that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 4 and that he was buried, and that he hath been raised (it was on the third day) according to the scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Afterwards he appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep. 7 Afterwards he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 But last of all, as it were to the untimely birth, he appeared to me also.
Revelation 21:1-6 –– 1919 edition
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away; and there is the sea no more. 2 And the city, holy city, new Jeusalem, I saw it descending out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice out of the throne, saying, Behold he tabernacle of God is with men, and he will tabernacle with them; and they shall be his peoples, and God himself will be with them, 4 and will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall be death no more; neither shall there any mor be mourning, nor crying, nor pain; because the first things have passed away. — 5 And he that sitteth upon the throne said, Behold I make all things new. And he saith, Write; because these things are faithful and true. 6 And he said to me, They have come to pass! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To him that thirsteth I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Mark 1:9-13 –– 1926 edition
9And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus went from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized in the Jordan by John. 10And straightway coming up out of the water he saw the heavens being rent asunder, and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him. 11And a voice came out of the heavens, Thou art my Son, the beloved; in thee I am well pleased.
12And straightway the Spirit urgeth him forth into the wilderness. 13And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
John 1:1-5 –– 1926 edition
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3Through him all things came into being, and without him there came no one thing that hath come. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light is shining in the darkness; and the darkness laid no hold upon it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8 –– 1926 edition
1Now concerning the gospel that I preached to you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand, 2through which also ye are saved, if ye hold it fast — unless without ground ye believed — I would remind you, brethren in what terms I preached it to you. 3For I delivered unto you, first of all, that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 4and that he was buried, and that he hath risen (it was on the third day) according to the scriptures; 5and that he appeared to Cephas, then of the twelve. 6Afterwards he appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom are with us until now, but some have fallen asleep. 7Afterwards he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8But last of all, as it were to one untimely born, he appeared to me also.
