Genesis 12:1-5
1957 Edition
1Now saying is Ieue to Abram, "Go from your land and from your kindred and from your father's house to the land which I shall show you. 2And make you will I into a great nation, and bless you will I and make your name great, and become must you a blessing. 3And bless those will I who bless you and those making light of you will I curse. And blest in you and in your seed are all the families of the ground."
4And going is Abram as Ieue speaks to him. And going with him is Lot. And Abram was seventy-five years of age when he fares forth from Charan. 5And taking is Abram Sarai, his wife, and Lot, his brother's son, and all their goods which they got, and every soul which they make their own in Charan, and forth are they faring to go toward the land of Canaan. And coming are they to the land of Canaan.

1 Yahweh said to Abram: Go by yourself from your land,
from your kindred and from your father's house to the land
that I shall show you.
2 I shall make you into a great nation,
And I shall bless you;
I shall indeed make your name great,
And you will indeed bbe a blessing;
3 I shall indeed bless those blessing you,
And I shall curse the one maledicting you.
In you all the families of the ground will be blessed.
4 So Abram went just as Yahweh had told him; and Lot went
with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he went forth
from Charan. 5 And Abram took his wife Sarai and his brother's
son Lot and all their goods that they had gotten and every
soul they had acquired in Charan; they went forth to go to
the land of Canaan, and they entered to the land of Canaan.

A Davidic Psalm
1 Yahweh is my Shepherd;
Nothing shall I lack.
2 In verdant oases, He is making me recline;
Beside restful waters, He is conducting me.
3 My soul He is restoring;
He is guiding me in the routes of righteousness,
on account of His Name.
4 Even though I should walk in the ravine of blackest shadow,
I shall not fear evil,
For You are with me;
Your club and Your staff, they are comforting me.
5 You are arranging a table before me in front of my foes;
You have sleeked my head with oil;
My cup is satiated.
6 Yea, goodness and benignity, they shall pursue me
all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of Yahweh
for the length of my days.
Isaiah 55:1-3
1962 Edition
1 Ho, Every thirsty one! Go to the water!
And he who has no money, go, purchase and eat and drink,
And go, purchase with no money and with no price, wine and milk.
2 Why will you weigh out money for that which is not bread?
And give your labor for that which gives no satisfaction?
Hearken, yea hearken to Me, and eat what is good.
And deliciousness in sleekness shall your soul enjoy.
3 Stretch out your ear, and go to Me;
Hear Me, and your soul shall live in good.
And I will contract with you a covenant eonian,
The kindnesses of David that are faithful.

9 And it occurred in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and is baptized in the Jordan by John. 10 And straightway, stepping up out of the water, He perceived the heavens rent, and the spirit, as a dove, descending and remaining on Him. 11 And a voice came out of the heavens, "Thou art My beloved Son; in Thee I delight."
12 And straightway the spirit is ejecting Him into the wilderness. 13 And He was in the wilderness forty days, being tried by Satan, and was with the wild beasts. And messengers waited on Him.

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was toward God, and God was the Word. 2This was in the beginning toward God. 3All came into being through It, and apart from It not one thing came into being which has come into being. 4In it was life, and the life was the light of men. 5And the light is appearing in the darkness, and the darkness grasped it not.

1Now I am making known to you, brethren, the evangel which I preach to you, which you accepted also, in which you stand also, 2through which you are saved also, if you are retaining what I said in preaching the evangel to you, outside and except your belief is a sham.
3For I give over to you among the first what I accepted also, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 4and that He was entombed, and that He has been roused the third day according to the scriptures, 5and that He was seen by Cephas, thereupon by the twelve. 6Thereupon He was seen by above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the majority are remaining hitherto, yet some were put to repose also. 7Thereupon He was seen by James, thereafter by all the apostles.
8Yet last of all He was seen by me also, even as if by an abortion.
