Mark 1:9-13
9And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10And straightway coming up out of the water He saw the heavens rending asunder and the Spirit as a dove descending upon Him; 11and a voice came out of the heavens, Thou are My beloved Son, in Thee I was well pleased.
12And straightway the Spirit driveth Him into the wilderness. 13And He was in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan, and He was with the wild beasts, and the angels were ministering unto Him.
John 1:1-5
1In beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God, 2the same was in beginning with God. 3All things through Him became and apart from Him became not one thing which has become. 4In Him was life and the life was the light of men. 5And the light in the darkness shines and the darkness overcame it not.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1Now I make known unto you, brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand, 2by which also ye are saved; I make known, I say, in what words I preached it unto you, if ye hold it fast, except ye believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4and that He was buried; and that He hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures; 5and that He appeared to Cephas; then to the twelve; 6then He appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep; 7then He appeared to James; then to all the apostles; 8and last of all, as unto one born out of due time, He appeared to me also.
