Mark 1:9-13
9 It happened, in those days, that
Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee,
and he was baptized by John in the
Jordan.
10 Immediately coming up from the
water, he saw the heavens torn open
and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

11 A voice came out of the heavens,
"You are my beloved Son. In you I am
well pleased."
12 At once, the Spirit drove him out
into the desert.
13 He was there, in the desert for forty
days, being tempted by Satan. He was
with the wild animals and the angels
were ministering to him.
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and
the Word was with God, and the Word
was {what} God {was}.
2 This one was in the beginning with
God.
3 All things came into being through
him, and without him, nothing came
into being that has come into being.
4 In him was life, life that was the light
of mankind.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and
the darkness has not overcome it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1 Now I declare to you, brethren, the
Good News which I preached to you,
which also you accepted, in which you
also stand.
2 And you are saved by it, that is if you
hold firmly to the word which I
preached to you. Otherwise, you
believed in vain.
3 For I delivered to you, first of all, what
I also received: that Christ died for our
sins according to the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was
raised on the third day according to the
Scriptures,
5 and that he appeared to Kephas,
then to the Twelve.
6 After that, he appeared to over five
hundred brethren at once, most of
whom remain [alive] until now, but
some have also fallen asleep.
7 Then he appeared to James, then to
all the apostles,
8 and last of all, as to the child born at
the wrong time, he appeared to me
also.
