Mark 1:9-13
9And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in Jordan. 10And immediately going up out of the water, he saw the heavens rent, and the spirit, as a dove, descending upon him. 11And a voice came from heaven, saying, "Thou art my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased."
12And immediately the spirit sendeth him forth into the desert: 13and he was tempted by Satan forty days; and was with the wild beasts: and the angels ministered unto him.
John 1:1-5
1The Word was in the beginning and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. 2This Word was in the beginning with God. 3All things were done by him; and without him was not any thing done that hath been done. 4By him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shone in darkness; and the darkness overspread it not.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1Now I declare to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which ye have received also, and in which ye stand; 2by which ye are saved also, if ye keep in memory what doctrine I preached to you : unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered to you among the chief things, what I received also, that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures; 4and that he was buried, and that he rose the third day, according to the scriptures; 5and that he was seen by Peter, then by the twelve. 6After that, he was seen by above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep. 7After that, he was seen by James; then by all the apostles. 8And, last of all, he was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
