9And it happened at that time that Jesus went from Nazareth, in Galilee south of Judea, where He was immersed by John in the Jordan River. 10And immediately upon emerging from the water, He saw the sky split open and the Holy Spirit descending on Him as a dove. 11And a voice called out from heaven, saying, "You are my dearly loved Son. I am very pleased with you."
12Then right after that the Holy Spirit drove Jesus out into the desert. 13He spent forty days in this desert where He was put to the test by Satan. He was with wild animals, and angels ministered to His needs while there.
1In the beginning was the Word; the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3Through Him all things were made; not one thing in all creation was made without Him. 4In Him was life, and this life was the light of mankind. 5The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1 Now I make known to you, brothers, the good news which I told you, which you also received, and in which you stand, 2through which also you arc saved, if you hold on to that message I told you, unless you believed vainly. 3For I gave to you in the first place. which also I received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, 4and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day, according to the Scriptures, 5and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6Then He was seen by more than five hundred brothers at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some also are fallen asleep. 7Then He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8And last of all, as to one born out of due time, He was seen by me also.
