Genesis 12:1-5
1 And the LORD said to Abram, "Go forth from your land and your birthplace and your father's house to the land I will show you. 2 And I will make you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing. 3 And I will bless those who bless you, and those who damn you I will curse, and all the clans of the earth through you shall be blessed." 4 And Abram went forth as the LORD had spoken to him and Lot went forth with him, Abram being seventy-five years old when he left Haran. 5 And Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew and all the goods they had gotten and the folk they had bought in Haran, and they set out on the way to the land of Canaan, and they came to the land of Canaan.
Psalm 23
1 A David psalm.
The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
2 In grass meadows He makes me lie down,
by quiet waters guides me.
3 My life He brings back.
He leads me on pathways of justice
for His name's sake.
4Though I walk in the vale of death's shadow,
I fear no harm,
for You are with me.
Your rod and Your staff—
it is they that console me.
5You set out a table before me
in the face of my foes.
You moisten my head with oil,
my cup overflows.
6 Let but goodness and kindness pursue me
all the days of my life.
And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
for many long days.
