Mark 1:9-13

Christian Counselor's New Testament & The New Testament in Everyday English

9And so it happened that in those days Jesus came fro Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John at the Jordan.
10And as soon as He came up from the water He saw the heavens split apart, and the Spirit coming down upon Him like a dove.
11And there was a voice from the heavens: "You are My dear Son, I am well pleased with You."
12Next, the Spirit led Him out into the desert,
13and He was in the desert forty days being tested by Satan; and He was with the wild animals, and angels took care of Him.

John 1:1-5

Christian Counselor's New Testament & The New Testament in Everyday English

1At the beginning, the Word already existed, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
2He was in the beginning with God.
3Everything came into being through Him, and without him not one thing came into being.
4In Him was life, and life was the Light of human beings.
5And the Light is shining in the darkness and the darkness hasn't suppressed it.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

Christian Counselor's New Testament

1Now I want to remind you, brothers, of the good news that I announced to you, which indeed you received, in which you stand,
2through which also you are saved, if you hold on to the message of the good news that I announced to you (unless your faith was empty).
3I delivered to you as of greatest importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins, in agreement with the Scriptures,
4and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day in agreement with the Scriptures,
5and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the Twelve.
6Afterward, He was seen by over five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom still remain alive, though some have fallen asleep.
7Afterward, he was seen by James, then by all of the apostles,
8and last of all He was seen by me, the one whose birth was an abnormality.

II Peter 3:10-15

The New Testament and Proverbs

10 But the Lord´s Day will come – as a thief – in which the heavens will pass away with a shrieking sound, and the earth and all her works, will be laid bare.
11 Since, therefore, all these things are to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in holy behavior and godliness,
12 as you anticipate and hurry the coming of God´s Day, because of which the heavens catching fire will be dissolved, and the elements burning intensely will melt?
13 But according to His romse, we anticipated new heavens and a new earth freshly made, in which righteousness will be at home.
14 Therefore, dear friends, as you anticipate these events, do your best to be found in peace, spotless and blameless before Him.
15 Think of the patient waiting of our Lord as salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom that was given to him.

Proverbs 8: 22-29

The New Testament and Proverbs

22 Yahweh possessed me at the beginning of His ways, before His works of old;
23 I was set up from eternity, from the beginning, from before the earth's earliest ages.
24 When there were no oceans, when there were no springs full of water, I was brought forth.
25 Before the mountains were sunk in place, before the hills, I was there.
26 When He had not made the land, the fields and the topsoil of the earth,
27 when He prepared the heavens, and when He described a circle on the face of the deep, I was there.
28 When He established the clouds above, when he fixed the springs of the deep,
29 when He set the boundaries for the sea that the waters should not pass beyond His command,
when He decreed the foundations of the earth, 30 then I was at His side.
I was a workman day by day, rejoicing before Him at all times.
