Russell A. Peterson was born in Minneapolis and served as a Lutheran Pastor in South Dakota. One of his interests was trends in Higher Education and the place of the Church in Christian Higher Education.

Despite the sub-title this translation is not connected to the Bible in Basic English published at about the same time in Great Britain.
