The following biography of Harold Littrell is taken from the English Study Bible website.

Harold Littrell died on August 21, 2001, at the age of 80. He would have been 81 on December 20, 2001. He was the author and translator of the English Study Bible, had earned a BA with a broadfield major in Biblical Languages from Harding University, Searcy, AR; and an MA from the Harding Graduate School of Bible and Religion, Memphis, TN. He also held an M.Th. and a Th.D. in Theology from Southwest in Jennings, LA.

Harold Littrell preached the gospel for more than 50 years, and wrote articles for several religious journals. He wrote commentaries on all the New Testament Books. They are in nine volumes: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Paul's Letters VOL I (Romans through Colossians), Paul's Letters and Hebrews VOL II (I Thessalonians through Hebrews), General Letters (James through Jude), and Revelation.

Harold Littrell preached for the Ravenden, Arkansas church of Christ from 1972 until his death on August 21, 2001. He had taught Greek and other subjects in college and high school work. He was living in Ravenden at the time of his death.
