Gleason Ledyard (1919-2006) attended Fort Wayne Bible College from 1942 to 1946. In 1946 he and his wife, Kathryn (1918-2008), traveled to the Northwest Territory, Canada where they served as missionaries to the Eskimos. While there they taught English to the Eskimos and also developed a version on the Scriptures using a limited vocabulary of about 850 words. Their translation of the New Testament was first published in 1969 and a complete Bible was published in 1986.
