Gleason Ledyard - New Life Version

Gleason Ledyard (b. 1919) attended Fort Wayne Bible College from 1942 to 1946. In 1946 he and his wife, Kathryn, traveled to the Northwest Territory, Canada where they served as missionaries to the Eskimos. While there they taught English to the Eskimos and also developed a version on the Scriptures using a limited vocabulary of about 850 words. Their translation of the New Testament was first published in 1969 and a complete Bible was published in 1986.
