Nathaniel Smith Folsom (1806-1890) was a Biblical scholar serving as professor of Biblical literature at Western Reserve College, Hudson, Ohio, 1834-36, as a Congregational minister in New England, 1840-47, and becoming a Unitarian minister at Haverhill, Mass. in 1848. He served for two years as editor of The Christian Register, a Unitarian weekly magazine, and in 1849-61, as professor at the Unitarian Theological Seminary at Meadville, Pa. His later years were spent in teaching and writing at Lawrence, Mass. (from the Hills entry 1846)
