Comments Second in the series of major revisions of the Rheims New Testament chiefly by Challoner that would form the basis for English language Catholic Testaments for the next two centuries. Changes from the 1749 edition are relatively minor. The title is in red and black. Although a revision of the Douay Old Testament appeared in the same year, this is a distinct edition.

Comments Third in the series of major revisions of the Rheims New Testament chiefly by Challoner that would form the basis for English language Catholic Testaments for the next two centuries. There are major changes from the previous two editions. It is published in two volumes, divided after Acts. The titles are in red and black. Although published two years later than Challoner's revision of the Douay Old Testament, the two testaments together are considered a complete Bible.
